ReplyDeleteRules of Powers
-Product rule: when multiplying powers with the same base, add the exponent.
-Quotient rule: when dividing powers with the same base, subtract the exponent: numerator exponent - denominator exponent
-power rule: when raising a power to a power, multiply the exponents.
-zero exponent rule: anything raised to the power of zero = 1
-rational power rule: when raising a power to a fractional exponent:
1. raise the base to the power of the numerator
2. take the denominator root of the result
-the negative power rule
and also the order of operation: power > product > quotation > negative power rule
